I
finished up reading the Book of Job last night and then read Jonah this
morning. What stood out to me about both books was the reminder that God is in
charge and that I’ve spent way too much time in life worried about things
outside of my control. The following scripture from the end of Jonah pretty
much sums it up……
But
God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”
“It
is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”
But the Lord said, “You have been concerned
about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up
overnight and died overnight. And should I not have concern for the great city of
Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who
cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?” – Jonah 4:9-11

I read book about the Bell side of our family. One of our distant cousin's wrote the book. He said if you are a descendant from the Bell family the one book in the bible you should read is the book of Job! Hadn't thought about it until you posted his!!
