What I’m reading: The Ice Man by Phillip Carlo and The
Book of Matthew.
What I’m listening to: Dave Ramsey’s daily radio show.
Everything he says is basic common sense, but it’s amazing how often I need to
be reminded.
Where I’m failing: Letting my emotions get the best of
me. I was pretty sick when I left work Thursday night and stopped by an urgent
care clinic. I had called ahead but was not called to the desk until 10 minutes
after signing in. Everything appeared to be good until the customer service
person asked me to sign a document stating that they could bill my debit card
in the event my insurance didn’t pay for certain services. I told the rep I had
a $35 co-pay so there shouldn’t be any additional charges. I then stated that I’d
never NOT paid a legitimate bill. I then informed her that medical facilities
were well known to overcharge people and that’s why insurance companies
oftentimes didn’t pay for services to begin with. Before I left on principle,
prolonging an infection that has made me completely miserable for the past few
days, I said a few more things that I’m not proud of, including a couple to
folks in the waiting room. Oddly enough, the urgent care clinic I went to
yesterday morning (how I love to spend a vacation day) didn’t ask for anything,
saw me more quickly (without an online scheduled appt) and had me on my way in
less than 30 minutes from the point of arrival.
What I’m excited about: My son’s birthday/graduation swim
party at the house today and senior day at Church tomorrow.
Quote that has me thinking: There will come a time when you
believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning. - Louis L’Amour
What I need to work on: Spanish (Honduras in June/July)
What I’m looking forward to: Kicking this massive sinus infection. A steroid shot and 10 days of
antibiotics starting yesterday….

Don't beat yourself up over the clinic asking for your debit card info, you were ill, and sometimes you need to express yourself instead of keeping it in! Hope you have a beautiful Sunday! Wish I was there for the party and swim!! Congratulations on getting your son through High School and on his way to college. Get working on that Spanish, wish we lived closer, have a complete CD collection on learning Spanish. Sinus infections must run in the family!! My sister had them terrible and your Grandpa Joe had issues as well. One interesting thing about him, every time he ate or drank anything hot, his nose would run!Take care of yourself and get well!
